    The Importance of Breakfast

    • It is often said that breakfast is the most important meal of the day, and with good reason. Eating a full and nutritious breakfast gives you the energy needed to successfully go through the day whether it be at work, school or any other day-long activity. Eating a filling breakfast is basically the same as putting fuel in your car when it's running on empty. In order for your body to function properly, it needs glucose--not the sugar found in sodas and candy, but the sugar that is created naturally by your body from different types of foods. This glucose gives you the energy needed to perform all types of activities including walking, reading, typing even speaking. In short, this morning meal is essential in preparing you to take on the world.

    Skipping Breakfast

    • The term "breakfast" is a compound word made up of the words "break" and "fast," essentially meaning to break the cycle of fasting while you slept. Skipping breakfast is a huge mistake, and can even result in health problems. People who regularly skip breakfast put unnecessary stress on their bodies while denying them of necessary nutrients. Many people even become overweight or obese as a result of skipping breakfast, which can lead to a plethora of other health problems including type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure and coronary disease.

    How Eating Breakfast Promotes Health

    • Breakfast provides the body with essential nutrients, building blocks and the energy needed for a high-level of function. The nutrients and energy gained from eating a good breakfast help to maintain cell growth and regeneration. They also keep the body well-nourished while giving it the ability to perform at peak levels. Those who skip breakfast do not benefit from these significant nutrients and often find themselves being sluggish and getting tired early. This fatigue and lack of energy eventually take quite a toll on the body, resulting in slower and weaker cell formation. Moreover, eating breakfast every morning aids in maintaining a normal, healthy weight and keeps weight-related illnesses such as heart disease and high blood sugar at bay, often leading to a longer and healthier life.
