How to Change a Registered Address After Moving
- 1). Open your Internet browser and go to the United States Postal Service "Change Your Address Online" website.
- 2). Read the "Privacy Act Statement" and click "I Understand and Acknowledge the Statements Above. Click Here to Begin."
- 3). Choose "Permanent" or "Temporary," then enter the date you wish to enact the address change in the "Start Forwarding On" text box. Click "Continue" to move to the next step.
- 4). Choose the move type on the "What Type of Move is This" page, then click "Continue."
- 5). Fill out the required identity and address fields, then click "Continue."
- 6). Verify the information you have entered.
- 7). Enter in payment information and finish out the changing of your registered address. The Postal Service requires a $1 verification fee to prevent fraudulent address changes. If you don't want to pay the fee, you can go to a post office branch in person to submit a form.

- 2). Obtain an "Official Change of Address" form.
- 3). Fill out the "Official Change of Address" form and turn it into a postal worker.
