The Health Resources and Services Administration, also known as HRSA, is an agency operating within the United States Department of Health and Human Services that's essentially answerable for improving the public's access to quality health care services, particularly for those who are uninsured, isolated, and medically challenged.
The aim of the HRSA is to improve future health outcomes, reinforce the standard of health care in the country, improve access to health care services, eradicate health disparities, improve the services offered by public health and private health care systems, hone the ability of the health care system to appropriately respond to health care emergencies, and attain pre-eminence in health care management practices.
Keeping this goal in mind, the Health Resources and Services Administration has just established the a grant program called the Rural Policy Analysis Program, whereby it intends to solicit applications that support the analysis and research of respective policy affecting rural communities, in order to inform policy makers.
The boundaries of the programme is national in nature and it concentrates on cross-cutting rural health and human services concerns in an attempt to determine health challenges and existing trends.
The Health Resources and Services Administration has released the funded projects should significantly focus on the following areas of concern: 1) The method of facilitating public talks regarding necessary agricultural policy issues by way of tracking developing rural health and human services policy issues and summarizing them in a way that will enable simple comprehension by agricultural community leaders, putting accent on agricultural health care providers and systems.
2) The method of identifying rare possibilities for the integration of health and human services in certain agricultural policies, programs, and in the assessment of local community context.
3) The process of determining opportunities which will potentially manifest the general community impact of the policies and programs in terms of health and human services.
4) The process of providing an all-inclusive research of policies and rules that may actually help highlight the positive impacts of these programs to the individual agricultural health systems and rural communities.
With this, the HRSA is set to administer funds in the amount of $225,000 to support the Rural Policy Analysis Program.
The following institutions and affiliations will be deemed eligible to submit an application under the program: a) Higher Education Institutions like Public/State Controlled Institutions of Higher Education and Private Institutions of Higher Education b) Hispanic-serving Establishments, Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), Tribally Controlled Colleges and Universities (TCCUs), Alaska Native and Native Hawaiian Serving Establishments c) Non profit associations other than institutions of higher education d) For-Profit Associations like Small Businesses e) State Governments, County Governments, City or Township Governments, Special District Governments, Indian/Native American Tribal Governments (Federally Recognized), and Indian/Native American Tribal Governments (Other than Federally Recognised) All of the institutions stated above will be qualified as long as they can demonstrate and confirm their experience in identifying emerging rural health issues.
