Have you talked about your hemorrhoids (piles) problem to anyone lately? Probably not, since this condition is not only highly uncomfortable, but is also quite embarrassing for a lot of people as well.
So what exactly triggers this condition? Here are seven (7) common causes of hemorrhoids that you should know about: 1.
Prolonged Straining
- This puts pressure on the rectal vein walls and can cause bulging hemorrhoids to occur.
Try to limit your time sitting on the toilet for no more than 20 minutes.
Also, try not to strain for more than 30-seconds at a time to lessen the likelihood of piles.
2.
Weak Rectal Vein Walls
- Some people have genetic dispositions to develop weak vein walls which make piles very likely to occur.
Natural remedies like butcher's broom and horse chestnuts have excellent vein-strengthening properties that helps prevent this condition.
3.
Chronic Constipation
- This is one of the most-common causes of hemorrhoids.
Being constipated frequently can cause hemorrhoid growth.
Avoid eating constipation-inducing food and drink plenty of water.
4.
Obesity / Being Overweight
- This condition also puts a lot of stress and pressure on the rectal vein walls.
Exercise and the right weight-loss diet will have a lot of benefits.
5.
Poor Diet and Lack of Fluid Intake
- Not drinking enough water and certain kinds of food (dairy products, yogurt, etc.
) can cause chronic constipation that leads to hemorrhoids.
A high-fiber diet and lots of water will be highly-beneficial.
6.
Standing/Sitting for Too Long
- Among the common causes of hemorrhoids is standing or sitting on one position for too long.
Give yourself a break and change positions often to relieve the constant pressure on the anal-rectum area.
7.
Pregnancy
- Pregnancy combines many of the above stated factors.
The added pressure on the rectum caused by the growing fetus and uterus also adds to the likelihood of developing piles.
Kegel exercise several times a day can be a very good preventive measure in this case.
