Anyone can become a writer, but as a percentage of our population goes, few do.
Only about one-third of one-percent of our population are writers.
And many of them are not very serious writers, that is to say they are either starving writers or they do not write all that much.
Nevertheless, we do know that there are writers in every aspect of our society, and there are also technical writers, research writers, and script writers too.
If you'd like to become a writer, you certainly can.
How do I know? Well, because I did it.
Interestingly enough, I never thought I'd ever become a writer, it wasn't my intention, and it was the furthest thing from my mind.
Perhaps, you might be a lot like me.
I'd always considered myself a student of math and science, and although I was a fairly good artist because I used to doodle in class in grade school, junior high, high school, and college, I never considered myself much of a writer although, at times I could spin a phrase in my term papers once in a while.
But then after I retired, I realize that I have a lot of information in my head from all the things that I've done, and it would be of value to other people.
Thus, I set out on a long journey to take everything that was in my mind, and all my experiences and observations and put them into articles.
After I was about halfway through doing this, I realized that I needed to improve my writing, and I read a book that changed everything.
I certainly wish I had read this book when I was back in high school or college, or before I embarked on this incredible mission, but I didn't.
Still, if I can turn myself into a writer, then I very much guarantee anyone can.
After all, I am the least possible person to ever become an author or writer, but here I am, there I stand, and I am telling you, you can do it too.
