What Is Email Forging?
SMTP
- SMPT, simple message protocol transfer, is the Internet standard for sending emails. When you send an email, your email client passes it along to an SMTP server that handles the information. SMPT has no means of authenticating the sender of the email; it just passes along whatever information it is given. Most email clients assume that you want your real email address to appear as the sender; with some clients, you can enter a different address.
