So you've decided you wanted to work from home. So you're after a websites with a home working job listing, websites giving you lists of jobs to do from home. Before I provide you with such a list here are the pros and cons - for those who are still undecided about working from home.

 PROS

No commuting required. This means you have more time to actually spend working and can spend time with your family rather than arrive home late in the evening. Also no commuting costs.

Work at your own leisure as long as you get the job done. This does depend on the type of work you're doing. If it is answering the telephone or taking orders you'll need to be available.

 CONS

There are so many distractions at home you need to have the discipline to be effective. It's a good idea to have a spare room set up as your office so you can go into work mode right away. I don't do this. Instead I make lists of things I need to do and just do them. Not everyone has that level of discipline though so make sure you know how much you have.

A lot of home working job listing sites give jobs that are really classed as self-employment. There's nothing wrong with this other than that you need to be disciplined. If you get paid for your own efforts you can't be the sort of person who does the bare minimum. You may also have to file tax returns, not something most people like doing.

I have been known to go a bit stir crazy working from home. Home working job listing sites don't tell you about this aspect. Being in the same room day after day can get you down. If you can designate one day a week to leave home go into the office or go to the library if you can work there. Most home jobs do require some interaction with head office so use this to get out of the house.
