    • 1). Combine the potting soil with a slow-release 14-14-14 analysis fertilizer. Mix in fertilizer at the label recommended rate for your container size.

    • 2). Fill a 12-inch diameter or larger container with potting soil to within 2 inches of the rim. Use a container that has drainage holes in the bottom.

    • 3). Water the potting soil until the excess moisture drains from the bottom of the pot. Wait 30 minutes before planting so the soil has time to absorb the moisture.

    • 4). Sow radish seeds ½ inch deep. Space them 1 to 2 inches apart in rows that are also spaced 1 to 2 inches apart.

    • 5). Mist the soil surface with water if it begins to dry out before the seeds germinate. Seedlings appear in as little as two days.

    • 6). Water the radishes when the top ½ inch of soil begins to feel dry. Supply water until the excess begins to drain from the bottom of the pot.
