How to Peel a Palm Tree
- 1). Mark two lines around the circumference of the tree approximately waste high and 12 inches apart from each other.
- 2). Trace the circles around the tree with the tip of a running chainsaw to cut through the bark and into the wood. Make sure both rings extend around the entire palm tree.
- 3). Peel the bark between the cut lines around the tree with an ax. To do this, start at the top line cut into the tree and peel downward in short downward chops until you peel the bark in a vertical line. Move to the next section of the tree and peel the bark in the same manner. Continue this until you remove all of the bark from between the cut lines.
