Cosmetics is a $50 billion industry right here in the United States alone, but what are they giving us in return for our money? They are returning the favor by claiming to be giving us the best skincare products, but then not living up to that promise.
They spend the majority of their research and development money on advertising, and then they have to begin looking at ways to make their profit. How do they do this? They do it by cutting down to only the cheapest possible ingredients that they can find.
You see, here in America the cosmetics industry is not well regulated. This allows them to add whatever kind of cheap and possibly harmful chemical preservative and additive that they want to the product.
The best skincare products contain only natural ingredients, but they cost a lot more, so most companies choose not to use them.
Many cosmetic companies would rather use ingredients that have either already been proven to increase the risk of contracting cancer, or are suspected of doing so. Then they pass these chemically laden products on to the unknowing but loyal consumer.
It takes a lot of gall to pretend that you are providing the customer with the best skincare products, when what you are really selling is slow acting poison.
This may be all right with the FDA here in the States, but it would never fly in Europe. The European Union runs a tight ship over there. Many of the agents used commonly in the United States have been banned from use in Europe. That's why I always tell people that in order to find the best skincare products, you have to go over the pond.
