Owned by London based billionaire Mr. Naresh Goyal, jet airways India, is a major Mumbai based Indian Airline. It was founded in 1992 and started its operation from 1993. Everyday 400 jet airline tickets are booked for travelling to 67 worldwide destinations.
As per the survey conducted in 2007, the jet airways India has 10,017 employees. Jet ticket booking can be done on internet. With a view to reduce expenses and work more economically, in 2008 jet airways india and competitor Kingfisher Airlines decided to introduce a union which would have an agreement on code-sharing for either domestic or international flights, joint fuel management, ground handling services to be commonly dealt with, joint using up of crew and sharing of similar frequent flier programs.
For short-route distances, jet airways India uses Boeing 737 Next Generation and for long-route distances, only Airbus A330-200 and Boeing 777-300ER aircraft are used. The other fleets for jet airways India are Airbus A330-200, ATR 72-500, Boeing 737-700, and Jet Airways Boeing 777-300ER. For domestic and international short route flights, customers are provided comfort by offering them extra wide seats and personal widescreen LCD.
