- 1). Click "Start" and type "cmd" in the search window. Right-click the icon that appears in the search results list and select "Run as administrator" from the drop-down menu. This will launch a "Command Prompt" with administrator privileges.
- 2). Type, without quotes, "sfc /scannow" at the prompt and hit "Enter."
- 3). Wait for the "System File Checker Tool" to locate and fix the corrupt file that is causing "Socket Error 11004." Follow on-screen prompts to restart your computer.
