How to Find a Praise Band Drummer
- 1). Using a word processing program, create a flier notifying the public of your search for a praise band drummer. In large font write the name of your church and the words, "Looking for Praise Band Drummer." Include any other relevant information, such as number of years drumming you prefer, as well as time commitment required for rehearsal and performance weekly. Type the name of the musical director and their contact information to complete your flier.
- 2). Print your flier and make as many copies as you think will be necessary.
- 3). Distribute your flier around your church in areas such as the main sanctuary, Sunday school classrooms, dining room and gathering places. Tape your flier to doors and windows where others can see them clearly. Place a stack of fliers at the church door prior to each church service.
- 4). Distribute your flier to local music schools and classes to locate talent who may not attend your church.
- 5). Hold auditions. Using an area in the church, ask that interested drummers gather there and audition by playing their best pieces. If you require that they read music, ask that they play a popular praise song only by reading the music.
- 6). Choose the best drummer based on talent, personality and whether or not they will get along with your church community.
