• The DS Lite's primary advancement over the original DS is the brighter screens. The system features four brightness settings. On the lowest setting, the DS Lite has a battery life that is approximately four hours longer than the original DS.
  
  

Size and Weight

• Another benefit of the redesigned DS Lite system is its much smaller size and weight, which makes it more ideal for portable use.
  
  

GBA Support

• The DS Lite retains the support of Gameboy Advance games found in the original DS, though the port is slightly smaller, which results in cartridges sticking out of the bottom of the system.
  
  

Colors and Limited Editions

• The DS Lite has been issued in many colors, the most popular being white, black and pink. Releases of high-profile games such as The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass and Winning Eleven DS are sometimes accompanied by a limited-edition DS Lite.
  
  

Game Library

• The Nintendo DS Lite has a library of over 600 games that covers nearly every genre or style as of 2009.
  
  

DSi

• In April 2009, Nintendo released a revised DS Lite which features even brighter screens, internal memory, two cameras and access to downloadable games known as DSiWare.
