Multifidus atrophy treatment

105 12
For treatment of the multifidus atrophy it becomes a necessity to carry out concentric and eccentric growth stages which might induce re-growth of LMM (lumbar multifidus muscles). Special exercise sessions need to be carried out regularly for contraction of LMM in order to perform better functions and reduce lower back pain (LBP). Many programs can be undertaken for patients including; stabilization training (ST), ST in combination with dynamic resistance, ST and dynamic-static resistance. The best mode for monitoring LMM development over fixed duration training is a CT scan carried out after regular intervals. After such training sessions inferences can be drawn regarding the actual process of muscle recovery. Since any form of dystrophy of the LMM might lead to low back pain and other dysfunctions it needs to be rectified at an early stage.

LMM(s) are very important and critical for stabilizing the lumbar spine neutral zone and maintaining its right posture. Persistence of pain in the spine might lead to its spread to other adjoining spinal nerve areas like the intervertebral disc and facet joints. This results in reflexive inhibition of multifidus and fatty tissue formation. It results in weakening of the spine area, its dysfunction and subsequent pain. In cases of LMM atrophy changes one might face the problem of low back pain and need proper treatment. Such malfunctions can exist anywhere and in any section of population enjoying active lifestyles. Here it becomes necessary to condition the LMM for restoring normal low back functions. This is a preventive measure that helps promote good back health in the long run.

Multifidus atrophy treatment should be carried out once any signs of muscular dystrophy start appearing. A conditioning technique helps the sufferer and promotes the basic aim of long drawn rehabilitation programs in providing fast relief to multifidus atrophy sufferers.
