When losing weight it's always obvious to follow a moderate exercise regiment and maintain a healthy varied diet but sometimes this just isn't enough to kick start your weight loss and I like to select foods that have unique properties that are beneficial for weight loss, especially for women.
Women have it tough when it comes to losing weight an unlike men we can't just turn to testosterone to help us burn fat and build muscle, we have to do it the hard way and that requires a lot of motivation for the long run.
The first one is of course cinnamon and its number 1 on my list of weight loss foods and not a day goes by where I don't get cinnamon in one form or another.
1-2 teaspoons of cinnamon a day is enough to help your body boost your metabolism and avoid the perils of high blood sugar levels which means its great to combat diabetes's especially if your in a pre-diabetic state.
You can bake with your cinnamon or just mix a couple teaspoons into your tea of or coffee and an even better option is to drink a cinnamon tea and enjoy the benefits of increased core temperature and insulin control.
The next weight loss foods for women is not such a common one and it is the Maca root which grows in the high mountain peaks of Peru, a unique root vegetable with powerful hormone balancing and weight loss supporting benefits.
A stop in your fat loss can happen for many reasons and maca root is great for regulating your body and get it back into balance so its definitely one to check out if your looking for that extra boost as well as the wide range of vitamins and minerals you get from this root vegetable.
Last but not least is the fattiest nut of them all, the walnut.
The walnut has an amazing range of health benefits and has one of the highest levels of healthy fatty acids found in any nut.
It's a great way to increase your daily dosage of healthy fats and help your body burn the fat away and not just park it on the side.
