How Do I Send a Distribution List in Mozilla Thunderbird?

    • 1). Open Thunderbird by double-clicking its desktop icon or clicking the Windows "Start" button, selecting "All Programs," selecting "Mozilla Thunderbird" and then clicking "Mozilla Thunderbird."

    • 2). Click the "Address Book" button at the top of the program window. This opens the Address Book window.

    • 3). Click the mailing list you want to email in the top portion of the Address Book window so it is highlighted.

    • 4). Click "Tools" in the menu bar at the top of the screen. This opens a drop-down menu. Select the "Export" option. This opens the Export Address Book window.

    • 5). Select "Comma Separated" in the "Save as type" drop-down menu, enter a name for your file in the "File name" field and click the "Save" button in the bottom right corner of the window. This saves your distribution list as a CSV file to your desktop.

    • 6). Click the red X in the upper right corner of the Address Book window to close it.

    • 7). Click the "Write" button at the top of the program window. This opens a new email message for you. Add the addresses of everyone who you want to receive the distribution list in the "To" field. Add a subject line to the message.

    • 8). Click the "Attach" button at the top of your email message. This opens the "Attach File(s)" window. By default, it is set to your desktop. Click the CSV file you created in Step 5 to highlight it, then click the "Open" button in the bottom right corner of the window. This attaches the CSV file to your message.

    • 9). Click the "Send" button at the top of the message window. This sends your distribution list to the recipients of your message.
