Special Needs Cats Picture Gallery: Mickey Blue Eyes

106 3
This is Mickey Blue Eyes...although, to be technically correct, I should drop the "s" from his name. Mickey showed up one day to join my feral colony. I trapped him and had him neutered and vaccinated, but did not ear-tip him...he was so very beautiful, I thought maybe I could tame him and get him adopted. He was NOT interested (he just wanted to rip my arm off and beat me with it), so after about a month, I released him back into the colony.
About six months later, Mickey showed up with something wrong with his eye.

It took me another four months to trap him again, and it turned out that someone had used him for target practice and put a bb in his eye. The eye had to be removed.

While recuperating in my spare bedroom, Mickey suddenly decided that inside wasn't such a bad place after all. He has since blossomed into the sweetest, most affectionate kitty anyone could every want. He is not, however, a lap cat. No...when he wants lovvies, he will climb up onto your shoulder and lay right against your face...purring like a little freight train. And at night, if I or my husband don't leave room on our pillow (Mickey's choice, he's equal opportunity cuddler), he will just lay on the offending face until we make room! He is such a sweet boy, we just don't know how we ever managed to survive before he purred his way into our hearts and home.
