- 1). Sprinkle a light dust of baking soda over your entire hardwood floor. Let it sit for at least one hour, or overnight when possible.
- 2). Mix 1 cup of vinegar and 1 gallon of warm water into a bucket.
- 3). Dip a mop into the bucket, and twist out excess moisture.
- 4). Mop the hardwood floor, wiping with the wood grain. Collect the baking soda with the mop as you go along, and dip the mop back into the cleaning bucket every few strokes to rinse off the collected baking soda.
- 5). Allow the floors to air dry, and repeat if any odor is still present.
