We're all familiar with Marco Pierre White. His unmistakable headband and seductive French accent are renowned following his appearance in TV Series Hell's Kitchen. Behind the scenes he is hard at work opening up restaurants across the country that are to be famous for serving succulent steaks.
Marco Pierre White Steak & Alehouse is a traditional steakhouse in the heart of the Square Mile. The archetypal dining room comes complete with a stylish cocktail bar and a private dining room seating up to 30 people serving a mouth-watering choice of cuts and a range of timeless English dishes. As well as the finest quality steaks, the menu features grilled and roast meats, fish mainboards and classic English puddings.
All of the beef is sourced from UK cattle, which graze on naturally lush and mineral-rich grass. It has a good fat covering and marbling effect throughout giving the hand-cut steaks extra flavour. It is dry matured on the bone for up to 21 days, which allows the muscle fibres of the beef to break down, leaving the steaks mouthwateringly tender and the deep red colour typical of well-aged beef.
The well dressed meat requires a well dressed customer so no trainers allowed! It's a strictly smart/casual dress code and no children under five please. This is probably best…you'll be far to busy stuffing in your steak to be worrying about anyone else!
Winner of numerous awards, Gaucho in Piccadilly is oh so Argentinean. All four of its floors are dressed in spotted fabric showing that they don't just serve steak, they loves steak. So for all those hard-core carnivores out there, this is the ideal feeding ground.
The restaurant is designed to give you a taste of true Argentinean life. Just two vegetarian options have scraped their way onto this all meat menu that prides itself on authentic ingredients and style. Prices start at £15 for a modest 225g-rump steak and go up to a whopping £119 for a sizzling sirloin to share.
Sitting alongside the sumptuous restaurant is Cavas De Gaucho – a specialist wine boutique. On the ground floor you can enjoy their elegant wine bar or ascend to the top floor supper lounge for a warm glass of red and unwind with live music and entertainment carried on till late.
If you're a firm believer that British is best then Hawksmoor will give Marco PW a run for his money! Described in the Times as ‘flawless' Hawsmoor threatens to offer the best steak around.
