If you are still creating your brand, this will be helpful for you as well! Let's get to it...
INTEGRITY has a lot to do with who you are when no one is looking. Knowing how to build your brand online is not only about the things you broadcast, but rather the things you don't. What secrets do you have? What hidden agendas are you planning? What would tarnish your image of found out by others, unexpectedly?
Build Your Personal Brand Online - Tips #1-4
#1 BE HONEST WITH YOURSELF
You cannot build anything on shaky ground. If you're not honest regarding your identity, you cannot be honest regarding your mission... and it will show.
You can make sales but you will not build a brand online or offline. Contrary to what many think, building a brand has nothing to do with how many products you sell, or how big your organization is!
To prove the value of your brand, you have to prove what you care about. You can't prove what you care about if you can't express it with passion. This will take a certain measure of authority. Therefore, it's important to analyze your strengths and weaknesses. It may be hard to believe, but people don't want to learn from someone who is perfect. People also don't want to learn from someone who seems insufficient in their field.
Don't be afraid to admit your deficiencies and seek progress, while also making the best of your talents. It's a part of how to build your brand online and offline, as well
#2 BE HONEST ABOUT YOUR PRODUCT
If your product doesn't help you, trash it. There are hundreds of thousands of others. Sell something you can be proud of, sell something that is affordable to your target audience, sell something that you would buy even if you did not have the chance to resell it!
If your brand conception is already built around a certain product or service, that's alright. Trash it! Your customers will not mind you offering an alternate product or service of more value. They will accept your apologies and respect your honesty. This, too, will promote brand loyalty. Your customers will feel as if their needs are your commitment, rather than the product or service you choose to promote.
This isn't something you want to do TOO OFTEN, because you'll be seen as untrustworthy. You want to conduct real product research, from now on, before building a marketing campaign.
If you don't really care about the effectiveness of your product, or are not sure of it, building a brand is far from your concern.
(Teaching you how to build a brand online is merely teaching you how to put customers first!)
This would be a great time to start doing some real research on your product and those who have used it. If you don't find a product that suits your liking, and you feel that you have enough expertise to be a consultant in your particular field, you may decide to promote your very own service/system.
#3 BE HONEST WITH YOUR POTENTIAL BUYERS
These are the people who will ultimately help you build your brand online. Being honest with your online community will go far. Building trust is the most important part of building a brand online. It's not about how many people buy your product. It's about what people are saying about your product. And this is what OTHERS really want to know...
€Did the product deliver?€
If you want to know how to build your brand online, you need to put your time and energy into delivering what your advertising methods portray.
If your product has no value to the buyers, you will not successfully build a brand online or anywhere else, for that matter.
There is nothing more powerful than word of mouth advertising - and you can't pay for it. I sold Kirby Vacuum Cleaners for two years. If you've never heard of them, it's because no one you ever knew had one. Kirby doesn't do paid advertising. They just pay commissions to associates when they make sales. And rely on word of mouth advertisement from their customers.
*Relationships are the most vital aspect of your promotional branding strategy
Build Your Brand with a Domain and Social Proof
#4 BUY A PIECE OF PROPERTY ONLINE and Infuse SOCIAL MEDIA
You need a store online, and it's much cheaper than a mortgage. Buying a domain online let's Google and other search engines know that you mean business, no matter if you have a service, product, or a cause. Personalize it (with content, if possible), and make it easy to navigate for your prospects. Engage with your prospects on social media. Your online presence should, preferably, include a Facebook business page, a Google Plus profile, and a Twitter page (at the very least). Needless to say, you should also have personal pages/profiles with the aforementioned sites. If people begin to see that the only thing you do online is promote your business, it looks very impersonal. It also denotes that you have something to hide if you only have business profiles/pages. Build relationships with those whose problems you can resolve and strengthen the relationships with those who support you and your brand.
