You've done the decade parties and the television show theme parties. Base your next party theme on something a lot less elaborate, such as the simple color black. Black is technically the absence of light, but there is no absence of directions you can take when you make your next party theme inspired by black. - Have your guests all dress in white or neon colors and light the party completely with black lights. Decorate the party room with black light posters and use miniature versions for party invitations. Give guests glow sticks and glow necklaces to use while dancing to 1960s psychedelic music. Serve food on neon-colored plates and in white bowls.
- Have an intimate cocktail party with a black and white twist. Send out tuxedo-themed invitations and request that guests all dress in black and white clothing. Decorate the party room with lengths of white muslin cloth, black tablecloths and white twinkle lights. Offer food in the color theme, such as black olives, squid ink pasta nests and cream cheese canapes.
- Throw a 50th birthday party with a Grim Reaper theme. Send out invitations with headstones decorating the border. Decorate the party room with Styrofoam headstones, skeletons and paper bats. Wear a black hooded cloak to greet your guests, and give gag gifts about getting older to the guest of honor.
- Have a biker party that even your most conservative guests can enjoy. Send out Harley-themed invitations and ask everyone to come dressed in biker leather. Play hardcore 1980s hair-band music, and get a sound-effects tape of motorcycle sounds to play in the background. Serve beer in bottles and snacks inside motorcycle helmets.
