Gretchen Wilson "All Jacked Up" On the Album Chart

Last year country rebel Gretchen Wilson opened in the #2 slot on the Billboard pop albums chart with her first album Here For the Party. This year she does that album one better as All Jacked Up easily outdistances the rest of the pack to be her first #1 album. 5 other albums opened in the top ten. At #2 Sheryl Crow'sWildflower becomes her 4th #2 album without a chart-topping collection. Rappers did well this week.

Three 6 Mafia's Most Known Unknown opened at #3 and Lil' Kim's The Naked Truth starts at #6. Toni Braxton's Libra climbs onto the chart at #4 becoming Braxton's highest charting album in 5 years. Sean Paul's #7 debut with The Trinity is the highest opening sales week of a reggae album since SoundScan began tracking album sales in 1991. The remainder of the albums top 10 is filled out by Kanye West'sLate Registration sliding 2 notches to #5 and Disturbed, Bon Jovi, and Black Eyed Peas taking the #8, 9, and 10 spots respectively.

Outside of the #1 spot on the Billboard pop singles chart held for a 4th week by Kanye West's"Gold Digger," there is some lively activity in the top 10. Nickelback slide upward 2 more notches to the #2 spot with "Photograph."Mariah Carey's"Shake It Off" and Black Eyed Peas'"My Humps" both slip a spot to #3 and #4. While Green Day's"Wake Me Up When September Ends" holds firm at #5, Kelly Clarkson charges up 4 notches to the #6 spot with "Because Of You." Weezer, Fall Out Boy, the Pussycat Dolls, and Lifehouse fill out the remainder of the top 10.

Mariah Carey continues to dominate Radio and Records' pop radio airplay chart with "Shake It Off," but Kelly Clarkson"Because Of You" is nearing striking distance. Weezer's "Beverly Hills" slips a notch from its peak to #3 and Kanye West's"Gold Digger" gains the most airplays of any single on the chart to land at #4. Green Day's"Wake Me Up When September Ends" looks strong rising 4 notches to #5. Rihanna, Lifehouse, Black Eyed Peas, DHT, and Mariah Carey's "We Belong Together" make up the rest of the top 10.
