1. Mama's Wild Past

Kimberly knows a thing or two about being wild. She worked as a prostitute, while she was living in Europe. She's also suffered from multiple personality disorder, a condition that developed when her memories of being sexually abused as a child surfaced. One of Kimberly's alter egoes killed a man who tried to rape her, while another shot big brother Roman. With Marlena's help, however, Kimberly was able to integrate, become whole and heal.

2. Surviving The Dragon, Emma and Others

Shane and Kimberly fell in love, while chasing an evil terrorist called The Dragon in England. When the culprit was captured, he revealed that Shane's late wife Emma was alive. Emma terrorized poor Kimberly, who began suffering from hysterical blindness. In the end Kimberly's eyesight returned, Shane divorced Emma, and the twosome resumed their romance. Then, they faced a new foe: Shane's illegitimate daughter Eve. The brat resented Kimberly and caused major trouble between her and Shane, even causing Kimberly to miscarry her second child. Oh, and Kimberly was also accused of murdering Emma when she really turned up dead. The killer was actually Shane's old ISA partner, Gillian Forrester, who set up Kimberly in hopes of snaring Shane for herself. Got that?.

3. Paternity Problems

Who's the daddy? It's a popular storyline on soaps. But Shane and Kimberly endured the redundant plot twist twice. When Kimberly was pregnant with her first child, Andrew, she feared Victor Kiriakis was the father.

She slept with the crime lord to save Shane's life; then, suspected he might be her daddy. In the end, it turned out he wasn't her pop or her child's. Kimberly's pregnancy with Theresa followed a similar path. After Shane was presumed dead, she succumbed to Cal Winters advances for comfort and, once again, turned up pregnant. Crazy Cal tricked Kimberly into believing the baby was his, but the truth eventually came out. Theresa, who was then called Jeannie, was also Shane's biological child.

4. Sister Act

During the period after Shane and Kimberly divorced, he began a relationship with his ex-wife's sister, Kayla. The pair grew close, after Shane was rendered paralyzed by a bomb explosion. Kayla helped Shane recover and learn how to walk again, and, in the process, they fell in love. It wasn't a favorite storyline with Days viewers and was abruptly dropped, as the tension between Kimberly and Kayla reached a fever pitch. Kayla ended up moving to Los Angeles, while Shane returned to England. In the interim, Kimberly found a new man: fiance Phillip Collier.

5. Reunited and It Feels So Good

In 2010, Kimberly returned to Salem for Alice Horton's memorial service. As fate would have it, Shane was in town, too, and the duo, who were now both single, quickly reconnected. Shane explained that he'd resigned from the ISA and was committed to being a better family man. He and Kimberly reunited and headed to Los Angeles to live together.
