    • 1). Encourage your child draw a picture of the kind of vampire she wants to dress like. She will have fun doing the drawing, but this will also become an important part of planning her costume. Do not correct your child if she draws a vampire that differs wildly from your idea of what these creatures look like. This is your child's project, allow her to take ownership of it.

    • 2). Ask your child if he has garments in his wardrobe that could make the vampire costume he desires. Look through his closet together, seeking out garments that resemble the ones in his drawing. If he is using "Twilight" for inspiration, contemporary, stylish garments will work well.

    • 3). Ask your child what else a vampire should wear. If your child believes vampires need a cape, you can make one easily out of black fabric and ribbon. Note that "Twilight" vampires do not wear capes. If your vampire is a boy, he may want his hair slicked back; you can do this with hair gel.

Your girl vampire may want to wear one of her fancier dresses. Note that the vampires in "Twilight" are teenagers and wear sexy, suggestive clothes; you do not want your 10-year-old child to dress in a sexy manner. Keep the vampire look age-appropriate.

    • 4). Make up your child's face to complete the look, if he requests this. Pale foundation and something dark around the eyes will produce satisfactory results. Pop in fangs and voila, you now have a happy little vampire.
