    • 1). Choose "Security List" under Investing, and click "New." Type in a name for the CD, such as "[Bank's Name] CD [date CD matures]." If you have several CDs maturing on the same date, add a letter or number at the end of the name, as you can't have two securities with the same name. Then click the "Next" button.

    • 2). Click "Add Manually" and add any additional details about the CD you wish to record, then click on "CD" under Security Type. Click "Next."

    • 3). Click on "Cash" under "Asset Class," and enter the maturation date again in the "Date" entry field.

    • 4). Record interest paid on the CD by double-clicking the account. You have the option of entering interest as it is paid on your monthly statements, using a recurring transaction, or simply adding all of the interest paid in a single transaction when the CD matures.
