Diabetes and Ayurveda - Natural Healing Process

Stressful and hectic is the daily schedule of almost everyone in the present decade. So are the increasing cases of Diabetes these days, which is one of the most chronic metabolic disorders. Glucose is not properly utilized and that results in hyperglycemia or high blood sugar and glycosuria in one's body.

Malignant are the long term complications with poorly managed diabetes, which include strokes, heart attacks, nerve damage, and blindness, impotence in men, itching and amputation of limb. While many remedies have already been assessed, Ayurveda assures and promises the most effective treatment for it.

Precise statements of Ayurveda states diabetes as a metabolic Kapha's disorder, in which the increment in the blood sugar is all due to declined activity of Agni. There are about 20 forms of Diabetes as per Ayurveda. Vata results to 4 of those, Pitta leads to 6, and 10 of those are due to Kapha.

Causes can be numerous for diabetes. However, the primary ones are mental stress and other strains, diet that can enhance kapha dosha like fats, potatoes, sugar, rice etc, lack of exercises, and of course excessive sleep. Be it any of those causes, the individual becomes gradually prone to excessive formation of urine and frequent urination, increased hunger, burning of soles and palms, excessive thirst, weight loss, sweet tastes in mouth, blurry vision, weight loss, skin infections, healing of wounds take time, extreme fatigue and many more.

Effective Remedies

Of the many remedies suggested by Ayurveda for diabetes, one of the most effective one is diet planning. It's just slight modifications to a normal balanced diet, and also sufficient time spacing between food intakes. Reduced simple carbohydrates, sugar, protein, fats, potato intake is advised. Eating plenty of orange, lemons, fresh vegetables, herbs, and bitter fruits, have great positive impacts on your well being.

Regular Exercise

Regular exercises, daily yoga must be practiced, which must include Paschimottansana, Halasana, Kapalbhati, and many more. Panchakarma, which includes herbal steam sauna, herbal massages, and fasting, should be promoted. Colon therapy to cleanse and reorganize the digestive system is advisable. The other precautions include avoiding alcohol intake, smoking, daytime sleeping, and so on.

Herbs

Ayurveda has discovered numerous natural herbs that can be of great help in diabetes treatment. Among those are the effective Jambhul, bitter gourd, gurmar, fenugreek, bel, neem, triphala, turmeric, and the pivotal shilajit. Turmeric with Aloe Vera is assured as an effective remedy.

Ayurveda also prescribes few of the Ayurvedic herbal remedies that are commonly used. Bitter lemon juice or bitter gourd should be regularly taken in empty stomach. Powder of rose apple stones should be taken twice a day. Musta, fenugreek, triphala, Arjuna, haritaki, ajwain must taken on daily basis. Haldi powder and amla powder are also of great advantages.

There is no denying in the fact that Ayurvedic remedies can never be substituted by any other remedy in its effectiveness for any disorder or disease.
