Social Network Checks For Landlords

103 1
Ever wished there was a way you could find out who the people you are renting to really are? It is nearly impossible to tell a person by a first impression or a credit check.
Even some drug dealers have great credit.
They make good money and can pay their bills after all.
What can a landlord to really know who it is they are thinking about renting their property to? One of the newest tools is conducting social network checks on the potential tenants.
These checks can show you the lifestyle that those who are applying for a rental really lead.
For instance, when the status messages are checked, you would not want to rent to a person who continually has anger issues and talks about putting his fist through the wall.
You know this can be a trouble situation as the police may frequently be involved and your property could be damaged.
Those who do this type of damage typically do not pay for it or they do a shoddy patch up job to cover up the holes.
Another warning sign is when a prospective tenant has a bunch of photos showing them doing keg stands and beer bongs.
If they are a partier, then they are probably holding a few parties of their own, in your rental unit.
They may constantly talk about how wasted they were and how trashed the place they were partying at became.
These are definitely reasons to refuse to rent to somebody.
There is no landlord who would willingly let a person who's only thought is for finding or throwing the next party.
Finally, if they are doing a good deal of drugs in their photos or they are talking about dealing or taking drugs, you may want to reconsider renting to them.
Many may think that people are not stupid enough to actually make these types of statements or post pictures of that nature, but people are, millions of people are stupid enough to post every aspect of their lives in a place where anyone can see and formulate information about them.
It is important for landlords to have a good idea of the personality of the person who is renting their apartment.
By conducting a tenant background check, a landlord can learn if a person is also worthy of renting from them.
This is just a good tool to use when the first impression and credit check are not enough.
