Most all humans have fear and much of the fear is based on the unknown.
The further they are from a subject the more likely they are to fall for old wives tales and thus end up fearing it.
Sometimes knowing nothing about a subject that one should fear, because there indeed is a real danger maybe over looked.
Recently an online think tank member asked folks what they feared most.
One commenter stated that she feared; Big Government and stated like we have today.
FEAR of Big Government, indeed is a real FEAR, human history warns us of such.
Another commenter mentions; just like at how everything is so regulated to the point that you hardly have any freedoms? Just to start a small business, look at all the FORMS (pure evil), all the rules and laws out there every time you try to do everything.
Of course the commenter was discussing the Federal Government most likely, but even the state, city and county levels, look at all the rules, and we are suppose to be Free? FEAR of Big Government is like FEAR of FREEDOM being taken away, without any say in the matter.
Thus this could be characterized as Fear of Loss.
Other civilizations have failed due to over oppressive or over regulated Big Government.
Truly our Founding Fathers in their papers did not want a HUGE over bearing government.
You see, government’s main job is to Protect the American People and all this other non-sense is an elective, which if WE the PEOPLE all agree too, fine, so be it, but when the Government gets too big, it no longer needs the people, we are in the way of its growth and Blob of Bureaucracy.
So, when a government gets so big, that it no longer needs the people; Beware.
Indeed, and the commenter is correct in these fears.
Fear of Big Government is number 10 on the list of the most feared things of present day first world nations, although in reality perhaps it might be a tad higher on the list if folks truly understood the reality and their own history.
Perhaps this article will propel thought in 2007.
