  Other preventive steps include moving wood products away from the foundation of the house. Wood placed against the house is an invitation to termites. For this treatment you will most likely need to contact a termite removal specialist to tent the entire house. After the house is covered by the tent, it is heated it to more than 120 degrees. Boric Acid

• Boric acid treatments often are very effective. Boric acid is a natural substance and can be purchased at most home improvement stores. Where the termites are entering, spray the outside of the house with acid. Another option is to soak wood stakes in boric acid and put them in the ground as bait. The acid eventually will kill the colony as it spreads from one individual to another.
