• The Chevrolet Silverado 3500 and 3500 HD are heavy duty work-horse trucks with impressive hauling and towing capabilities and are made with tough chores in mind. The 3500 HD takes up where the 3500 left off in 2006, extending its capabilities and performance levels. Engines

• As of 2006, the 3500 came with three engine options of varying capabilities. The base model received a 6.0-liter V8 engine with a horsepower rating of 300 with 360 ft-lb of torque. The upgrades consisted of either a 6.6-liter V8 turbodiesel --- with 360 hp and 650 ft-lb of torque--- and a 8.1-liter V8 engine with 330 hp at 450 ft-lb of torque. The 2009 3500HD base engine hits the same specs as the 3500 base engine except it puts out 360 horsepower and 380 ft-lb of torque. Its upgrade is a 6.6-liter V8 turbodiesel Duromax which exhibits 365 hp while boasting 660 ft-lb of torque.
  
  

Exterior

• Both the latest 3500 models and the 2010 3500HD come as one of either a regular, extended, or crew-cab body style design. Both models also offer a choice of either a single or dual-rear wheel configurations. Depending on the model, the wheels will be 16 inches and may be either steel or alloy wheels. The 2010 3500HD models all have long beds regardless of the cab size. The Crew Cab models are 258.7 inches long, 99.5 inches wide and stand tall at 76 inches high.
  
  

Interior

• According to Edmunds.com, the 2006 Silverado 3500 was still behind the competition in terms of the quality of materials used for the interior of the truck. However, the 2006 model exhibited an improvement over previous models in terms of build quality. Equipped with a dual-zone climate-control system, uncluttered gauges and roomy cabins, the 3500 makes for a logical and comfortable layout, Edmunds stated. The 3500HD incorporates wood and metallic accents making for a classier design. Depending on the model you purchase, you will receive one of two interior designs. The 3500 has optional bucket seats or a three-person front bench. Among many features the 3500HDs are equipped with are air conditioning, cup holders in the front and back, roomy cab space sufficient for adults and an audio system with a satellite and CD player.
