- 1). Download the Norton Removal Tool from Symantec. Save the file to your desktop.
- 2). Double-click the downloaded file to launch the Removal Tool.
- 3). Follow the on-screen instructions to remove Norton Antivirus (and any other Norton or Symantec products) from your computer. Restart your computer after the removal finishes to complete the process.
- 4). Download McAffee Antivirus or insert the purchased disc. Double-click the downloaded file or the inserted CD to launch the installer.
- 5). Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the McAffee installation. Restart the computer after the install finishes.
