You are planning your wedding! You have so much to do.
You have to find that perfect gown, decide on the type of wedding and all that other stuff.
Once you have the time, place, and date, you can think about your invitations.
If you choose to make your wedding invitations you might need help with the wording.
Learning some proper wedding invitation etiquette can help.
First you will need to know who is hosting the wedding.
This usually means who is paying the bills.
If you, as a couple are you can word the invitation as you like.
Usually you will word it as you inviting them to your wedding.
The traditional wedding announcements will have the parents of the bride request the quests company.
Many of the more modern weddings are hosted by both or all three.
This means the couple can request with both parents names on the invitation.

Now, usually you will use a nice script font, in general you will have lines of type that will be centered on your card.
The parents names will generally be first.
The brides name is almost always above the grooms.
Her name will have first and middle and last if different from her parents.
The word and is then one line below this.

If his parents are not listed below the bride's parents use his last name.
If his last name is different you should use it here also.
You will spell out everything on your wedding announcements.
This is usually true for formal and informal.
It allows for less error.
You want the day and date on the invitation.
Both will be spelled out.
The wording of the year is up to you.
Many will say two thousand eleven.
Some say two thousand and eleven and it is even acceptable to say twenty-eleven.
If you have an RSVP you want to put a date on it for response time.
The RSVP should be addressed to the bride's parents if both are hosting the wedding.
If this is not practical you can change it to another family member or the groom's parents.
A reception card is usually enclosed when the reception is someplace other than where the wedding was held.
If the reception is the same place as the wedding corner copy is fine.
Today many are using corner copy to save money.
It is becoming more acceptable.
