How to Use Distress Inks on Wood
- 1). Sand your wood with sandpaper until smooth. Wipe away any excess dust with a rag.
- 2). Paint the wood piece with acrylic or enamel paint. Apply enough coats to cover the wood, allowing each coat to dry before adding another coat.
- 3). Sand the painted wood edges lightly to exposes the wood grain. You can choose to sand the entire edge or at random spots to give the look of wear. Wipe away excess dust with a rag.
- 4). Hold the Distress Ink pad in the palm of your hand. Run the pad over the sanded edges. Apply the ink lightly to avoid saturation.
- 5). Spray the wood with an acrylic sealant spray in a well-ventilated area to protect the wood.
