How to Clean a Dremel

    • 1). Put on safety goggles to protect the eyes from flying debris.

    • 2). Plug in the Dremel to the electricity and turn on the slide switch of the tool to the lowest speed.

    • 3). Hold the tool normally in one hand while spraying compressed air from the can into the series of motor vents along the side of the tool to dislodge and remove sawdust or other particle debris that can accumulate inside the housing.

    • 4). Adjust the selector switch to high speed to loosen any remaining particles, then shut off the Dremel and shake to release dust and dirt from the motor vents.

    • 5). Pry out particles and dirt in the grooves of Dremel bits using the tip of a pocket knife.

    • 6). Wipe down the tool and bits with a clean cloth and store in the Dremel's protective storage case.
