Simple Ways You Can Help Improve Your Dry Skin
For those of us who deal with dry skin, it is a real nuisance.
You feel like you are constantly having to exfoliate the dead skin and apply moisture just to maintain a face that isn't falling off.
And if you live in an area with a colder or drier climate, then this problem is compounded.
Not to mention that more frequent bathing or showering can add to your problem.
So what are some simple ways to combat this problem? 1.
Wash your skin with a very mild soap or soap substitute.
I've found that Dove soaps are about the best commercially available soaps for dry skin.
Also, the way you wash your skin can have an effect on your skin's reaction.
Apply moisturizers often and apply them when your skin is still damp from a shower or just washing your face.
For soap I recommend Dove but for dry skin moisturizers I've had good success with products from Oil of Olay.
Look for ones labeled as noncomedogenic.
3.
Consider putting a humidifier in your home.
Obviously this really only applies to people dealing with dry skin who live in much drier climates.
I happen to live in Florida and so I'm not affected by this and have never needed a humidifier.
Some people will suggest other tips to help with dry skin such as drinking a lot of water or taking vitamins.
Obviously neither of these suggestions are bad and they are just overall healthy living suggestions, but don't expect them to do a whole lot for your dry skin.
Taking care of it with proper washing and moisturizing are the best methods to help it improve over time.

- Use lukewarm water and get the Dove soap wet
- With a soft wash cloth or just your fingers, apply it gently onto your face with circular motions.
Don't think you need to use any type of loofah sponge or other more abrasive applicators.
Many people feel they need to scrub at their dry skin with some abrasive and this only can worsen the overall condition - Splash the lukewarm water onto your face until all of the soap is rinsed off.
This will take several splashes.
You DO NOT want to leave any soap remaining on your face! - Lastly, just pat your face dry.
Don't rub it into a towel.
You need to be more gentle with your skin.
