Let's Learn About Lawn Mowing!
A lawn is a cultivated area of green grass. This area of green grass if not maintained properly will turn into a rampant terrain of silage and various migrants. Hence the grass of a lawn has to be trimmed periodically so that the surface is even and devoid of any foreign objects. This process of trimming the grass of a lawn is called lawn mowing.
Ideal approach to mow a lawn
The first point that one needs to consider before mowing a lawn is the type of grass the lawn has, because this determines the quality of mowing. If you are mowing a particular lawn for the first time, then you assure that it is done at maximum frequency. Mowing too frequently will make the lawn very firm and if you do not mow enough then it will be tough to get an even height of the lawn. The length of the grass varies a lot. Hence the lawn mower should be set according to the length of the grass so as to assure effective mowing. The blades of the mower should be sharp enough so that the grass is cut properly at one shot.
Height of the grass and mower
Different grasses have different limits of preferred height of cutting. During hot and dry weather conditions always sojourn at the upper end of the preferred range and during winter always cut the grass at the lower end of the preferred range. Thus the height of the mower is majorly dependent on the weather conditions. Never cut more than one third of the grass leaves at one single mowing. After cutting the grass always remember to edge and trim the grass as these are the final touch up of mowing. Edger and trimmer are more or less similar. Edgers are made such that they cut the margins very neatly but leaves back some dust and grass particles. Trimmer can be used anywhere be it a tough surface or congested space. Do not discard the grass cuttings after the mowing process as they are excellent source of fertilizer. Just leave those grass cuttings on the lawn as they easily break down and serve as organic manure to the lawn.
Proper mowing of a lawn makes it beautiful, attractive and healthy. Grasses also have growing points which if left uncut will turn into a grass plant. If you don't mow your lawn, then it will turn into a dense wild field of grown up grasses. Regular mowing of lawn keeps all the immigrants away from the lawn.
