Definition: A lunge whip is a long whip, approximatly 5 ft. (1.5 m) long, with a lash of equal length and cracker or popper on the end of fine threads that create the popping sound when the whip is cracked. The lunge whip is a visual and audible aid for cueing the horse while lunging.
