The latest edition of The Uhholy Alliance Tour took place in 2006. The first leg was in the U.S. in the summer, and included headliners Slayer along with Lamb Of God, Mastodon, Children Of Bodom and Thine Eyes Bleed.

The Unholy Alliance - Chapter II: Preaching To The Perverted was filmed on July 13, 2006 in Vancouver, British Columbia. The DVD includes concert performances from all the bands along with extras including interviews of bands by other groups on the tour, behind the scenes footage and a parking lot expedition.


Slayer were the headliners on the tour, and are the main focus of the DVD with 10 songs. Mastodon has three songs, Children Of Bodom two and Thine Eyes Bleed one. Lamb Of God only has one song, which is a huge omission. I'm not sure if it was contractual issues or something else, but Lamb Of God should have had a few more songs included on the DVD.

The audio and video quality of the recording are good. There are plenty of camera angles and the editing is snappy without being headache inducing. Mastodon puts on a great performance, although the audience doesn't really seem to be as into them as they are some of the other bands. Lamb Of God, Children Of Bodom and Thine Eyes Bleed also turn in solid performances, but it's Slayer that tears the roof off the place.

Slayer fans will especially enjoy this DVD, and it's a good keepsake for those who had the pleasure of attending one of the shows on the Unholy Alliance Tour. A double disc set with more music, especially from the supporting bands, would have made this DVD even better.
