- 1). Use a black light, or UV light, to locate the exact spots where the animal urinated. This method works best when the puddles have dried.
- 2). Soak up any liquid urine with paper towels. Avoid rubbing the hardwood floor. Instead, blot the floor dry.
- 3). Moisten a clean cloth with hydrogen peroxide. Rub the cloth all over the areas of the hardwood floor that had urine.
- 4). Use a natural enzymatic cleaner to clean the area. This type of cleaner will get rid of the rest of the smell, and help prevent the animal from urinating in the same spot again.
