Reading pH

• 1). Thoroughly rinse out and dry the test tube to ensure no contamination by foreign water.
  
  
• 2). Fill the tube with the water to be tested.
  
  
• 3). Place the required number of drops of pH testing solution into the tube, as indicated by the solution's packaging.
  
  
• 4). Seal the opening of the tube with your thumb and shake vigorously until the water in the tube changes color.
  
  
• 5). Compare the color of the water to the colors on the pH solution color chart to determine the pH level.
