Weather

• Average daytime temperatures from mid-October through April range from 60 to 80 degrees Fahrenheit. In the evenings, temperatures drop approximately 10 degrees. During the summer season, May through mid-October, temperatures average around 80 degrees Fahrenheit and drop about five degrees at night. Less rainfall in the summer means more beach time, but it is best to avoid traveling to Hawaii between June and August when tourist levels are extremely high, as are the rates for airfare, accommodations and island attractions.
  
  

Surfing

• Some of the best surfing in Hawaii can be experienced during the fall and winter months. Oahu's North Shore is known for some of the finest surfing worldwide and is exceptionally good during the winter season. Other beaches on Oahu, such as Waikiki, Wailea and Makena, and Maui's Kihei Beach offer superb tides for surfing enthusiasts. Kohala and Kona Beaches on the Big Island and Poipu Beach on Kauai are fabulous surfing destinations, as well.
