Mardi Gras Craft Project Using Cardstock for Your Mardi Gras Party
Mardi Gras can get pretty crazy.
It's a fun, wild time, but sometimes it can get out of hand.
That scene is great for the young or the young at heart, but if you prefer things a bit more subdued, you can still partake in the festivities.
Actually, you can have Mardi Gras party at home.
And for fun, you and your guests can make masks with cardstock.
Cardstock-textured cardstock for a little pizzazz-in an assortment of colors preferably royal blues, purples, greens, and yellows Glitter glue (and of course loose glitter and a variety of glues) Scissors -straight edge, pinking shears, and maybe some decorative Appliqués-all kinds, get creative and buy what's on sale Elastic bands Setup a large folding table covered in a disposable vinyl table cloth (for easy clean up).
Set up all the materials on a smaller craft table.
Invite your friends to come over in the afternoon to make their masks.
They'll dry by the time it reaches nightfall.
You can take it a step further and buy plastic serving dishes for your food and decorate the outsides with the same materials (minus the textured cardstock).
Have your guests help.
While everything is drying, make some easy appetizers and main dishes.
Go potluck style and have plenty of food-that's what this day is all about.
For drinks, you can get creative and serve more options than the usual beer and wine.
Make beverages that are colorful, perhaps even jell-o shots for the adults.
Mardi Gras can be a fun experience for everyone.
Perhaps your bar-hopping years are behind you.
You may have young children, aging parents, or other obligations that prevent you from the joining the crowd...
that is until you gather a crowd of your friends at your place.
You can still get silly once in a while.
