    Personalized Cookies

    • A nice homemade option for communion party favors is to make personalized cookies. Check local party planning stores or hobby shops for appropriate cookie cutters like crosses. Make a sugar cookie recipe and bake the cookies according to the directions. Decorate the cookies with colored frosting and write the child's name on it in decorator icing.

    Candles

    • A homemade favor that is sure to please is a "stained glass" votive. Buy tea light candles, colored tissue paper, white glue and simple, small glass votives from a hobby store. Tear the tissue paper into small 1-inch square sections. Mix glue with a small amount of water and paint it onto the votive. Place the tissue paper on in an abstract mosaic design. Paint over the design with a thin layer of the glue and allow plenty of drying time. Place a tea light candle inside and present it to guests at their place settings.

    Chocolates

    • Candy molds and chocolate melting disks can be purchased at local hobby shops and bakeries. Melt the chocolate in a double boiler and fill molds. Allow the candy to harden and release from the molds onto waxed paper. Package the candy in candy boxes and store in the refrigerator until the party.

    Tins

    • Purchase decorative themed tins at a hobby store or online vendor. Fill the tins with candy in pastel colors. There are many different options for candy tins and they can be personalized by companies to commemorate the occasion. While this favor is only semi-homemade, it can be put together and personalized to create a nice memento.
