Ideas for Care Packages
- Surprise your friends or relatives who are moving with a care package in a large kitchen wastebasket and deliver it the morning or afternoon of the move. Include items such as glass cleaner, paper towels, a sponge, dish soap, an extension cord, trash bags for the kitchen, toilet and facial tissue, some dishtowels, and a brush for doing the dishes. Add some coffee singles, paper plates and cups, plastic spoons and forks, and a gift certificate for pizza.
- Pack full-size products of baby care products such as lotion, shampoo, powder and diaper rash ointment. Include a receiving blanket, washcloths, bibs, baby wipes and a refill for them, a sling wrap, and some baby bottles and extra nipples. Honor the parents with a restaurant gift certificate and a gift certificate for shopping on the web.
- Make your favorite gardener a care package with flexible and waterproof gloves, seeds, a book about gardening (or a gift certificate to a bookstore), a gift certificate to a local nursery or home improvement store, and a bottle of hand lotion.
- Send or take a care package to a sick friend or family member that includes a can of chicken soup, a favorite movie on DVD or VHS tape, some herbal tea, candy and small bottles of fruit juice. Include a couple of silly toys such as a yo-yo or silly putty for the kid in all of us. Include the latest novel or magazine of interest to the person. Do not forget to add a get well card.
- Pack up a care package for a senior relative or friend. Include some snacks and a framed photo of you (and your family if the person is a relative). Add a puzzle book, a mug and a box of tea or coffee singles. Include letters or drawings from your children if the senior is a relative. To make your package complete, add a large print book or magazine, and a gift certificate for a haircut, yard work or housecleaning.
