- 1). Put on kitchen gloves to prevent stains to your hands. Remove the contents of the ready to use fondant package. Knead the fondant gently until softened. Roll fondant into a large ball using your hands. Place the ball on a sheet of parchment paper to protect the counter from dyes.
- 2). Dip a toothpick into the first icing color that you want to use. Place dots of the icing coloring across the surface of the fondant. Knead the ball until the color is well combined with the fondant. Add more dots of color and knead again if you want a darker color.
- 3). Repeat the process of dotting and kneading the fondant with additional food colorants, if any. Use one color at a time.
