With all of the competition in the internet marketing industry, you need to develop a unique perspective or you will get swallowed up by the crowd.
I have seen many new marketers do everything right and even follow their tough competitors but their campaigns failed miserably.
What is the secret? The truth is everyone has something unique to offer the world, whether a type of personality, background, unique method or style.
The methods and principles are unchanging so re-hashing the same information will not make you stand out as a leader.
You must offer something different than everyone else.
The only thing you possess that is unique to the marketplace is you.
What are your unique attribute or traits? Are you comical, charitable, sensitive or come from a background people would be interested in? Do you do things differently, quirky? Ask your friends and family to tell you how you come across to them and what your nuances are.
Chances are you will find something that separates you from everyone else.
Write these traits down and use one or two as the backbone of your branding campaign.
Inject your unique point of view in the appearance of your website, Twitter profile, blog and in your communications whether through customer service or social media.
Over time, people will recognize your point of view and your style and you will attract more people to your brand.
Don't be afraid to tell people where you came from and what you had to overcome to get to where you are.
You can professionally build a brand from the hardships and life you experienced.
Did you leave a nine to five job to realize the life of your dreams? Were you poor at one point in time and you rose up to become a leader? Your ambition and drive will inspire others to achieve great things and you should not feel ashamed of your past.
It can help you to draw more people to your services because they will feel a connection with you that they will not feel with your competitors.
Research your competitors and notice how similar their campaigns are run.
It is basically the same old information displayed in a different way.
Now, take a look at the leaders in your industry.
What are they branding? What types of images, communication and designs are they using to separate themselves from the crowd? Follow their lead and utilize the greatness within you to develop a distinct campaign that will establish you as a leader in the industry.
