DIY: USB to VGA

    • 1). Push the VGA end of the adapter cable into the USB port on the computer. Insert the other end of the cable in the jack on the back of the monitor or TV. The jack is usually located in the back of a TV or monitor and may be labeled with "S-Video," but this could vary with TV models. Consult your owner's manual if necessary.

    • 2). Finger-tighten the adapter cable to the S-video jack on the TV or monitor until it is tight.

    • 3). Power on the computer and monitor. A message should appear on the computer's screen stating the monitor or television has been recognized. The USB port has now been converted to VGA.

    • 4). Press the "input" button on the remote until you see the computer's signal on the TV or monitor.
