Improving Eyesight by Relaxing the Eye Muscles

103 2
Both of your eyes are surrounded and held in position by tiny muscles.
These muscles not only move the eyes where you want to look but also make them change shape so that they can focus properly.
As with every other muscle in the body, they not only need proper exercise but also proper relaxation.
All too often it is the latter that people forget about and over the years the muscles weaken and can no longer focus the eyes as they once did.
Another unfortunate side effect of getting older is that the actual lens of the eye becomes a little firmer and it is more difficult for the now weak muscles to adjust the focus.
One of the greatest causes of eye problems is mental strain and stress.
Learning how to relax, especially the muscles of the eyes, can go a long way in preventing the need for eyeglasses.
Even if you eyesight is no longer perfect, by practicing relaxation methods you can improve the quality of you vision and prevent further damage.
Stress is unfortunately one of the biggest medical problems in the world but there are methods to reduce or eliminate it which has great health benefits.
Paying particular attention to your own thoughts and especially trying to reduce the number of negative ones is the first step.
Whenever you become aware of having negative thoughts just acknowledge them and move on to something more positive.
I'm not saying it is easy and there are so many things that can cause us to be negative but so often it is minor things like rush hour traffic that start us off on a negative path.
These minor reasons can be easily overcome with practice.
Another practical step is to practice relaxation techniques for the eyes in the evening when lying in bed.
By closing your eyes and covering them with a soft cloth you eliminate all light.
Pay particular attention to the muscles and be conscious of them beginning to relax more and more.
This technique seems simple enough but it does need some practice before it becomes natural.
Try it for about 15 minutes this evening and continue with it over the next week or so.
You may be surprised that your focus does start to improve noticeably.
Just imagine how much better it will become when relaxing the eye muscles becomes more natural.
