    • 1). Double click on the Adobe Photoshop icon on the desktop of your computer. If you do not have a desktop shortcut icon for the program you can open it by going to the Start menu and finding it in the program list.

    • 2). Go to "File" at the top left corner of the program and then go to "Open" and load a photo of your choice to work with. It can be a any type of photo you have saved in the My Pictures folder.

    • 3). Look at the toolbar window at the side of your photo. There are six tools in the first section that are primarily used for cutting, pasting and highlighting portions of your photograph. One essential tool in this section is the "Lasso" tool. This tool allows you to trace an outline of the objects contained in the photo so that you can work specifically on that particular part of the picture.

    • 4). Use the "Crop" tool to cut and trim your photographs. You can also use this feature to completely resize your photo, making it smaller, or increasing its size.

    • 5). Use the "Move" tool to move objects or layers of the photograph to different locations in the overall picture. You can highlight and move different objects and also resize the objects.

    • 6). Use the brushes and other paint tools in the second section of tools in the toolbar to fill in, paint and add designs to your photograph. You can use a spray paint style tool, a regular paintbrush, and even airbrushes to make unique designs. You can also add different types of paint brush kits from the Internet into the program.

    • 7). Use the "Layer" tool to work on one portion of your photograph without worrying about messing up the other layers. You can also add and manipulate the layers to create unique effects such as fog, blood and numerous other effects to liven up your pictures.
